"I mean, I know this part of town reasonably well. I thought. But, it's very hard to get around right now," Robert Hoffman told FOX 47 News.

He had to get out of his car to find a route to his destination.

"I'm just trying to drive into the parking lot at Home Depot and I'm not sure where you go in," he explained. "I need a few plant things, you know, and it's making this a major expedition."

Wisner Street at Monroe has been closed while crews re-pave the road and put in new sidewalks. It is expected to re-open Friday night.

But, starting Monday, Wisner will be closed between Boardman Road and the curve at Gordons Food Service, forcing drivers to use the Boardman entrances to the Jackson West Plaza.

"It's like an obstacle course. You just have to respond to the orange very quickly and then you don't know where you're going," Hoffman added.

On Monday, construction will also continue on West Avenue and in Downtown.

Look out for a 3-day closure of Pearl Street on the west side of Jackson Street for a phone duct installation.

And, you can expect the current traffic pattern on the corner of Jackson Street and Glick Highway to continue, with the two north lanes closed.

A lot at the same time. But, Vashon Smith thinks it's worth it.

"It's horrible, but I guess it's a good thing," he said. "So, let's be patient and we'll have better roads."

Hoffman added, "We need that. You know, you have to put up with a little bologna to get that done."

Drivers agree. The sooner, the better.

The City says the intersection at Ganson Street and Lansing Avenue should also re-open by tonight.

The work in Downtown is expected to wrap up by the end of May.

The West Avenue project will last throughout the summer.
