Law enforcement in Jackson County believes a threat made against a high school was indeed the work of a hacker.

The threat to 'shoot up' Northwest High School was posted on a 16-year-old students Facebook account last week.

The Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety Department and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office investigated and believe the social media account was hacked and say there's no credible threat to the school.

The students cell phone and computer continue to be analyzed by state police's computer crimes division.

There will be more police at schools Monday just as an extra safety precaution.
