While investigating a report of a vicious dog, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputy got bit twice in the leg by the animal.
Undersheriff Christopher Kuhl said that the deputy went to investigate the reports of the vicious dog in the 2200 block of Jefferson Road in Liberty Township at about 7:42 p.m. Tuesday.
While the deputy was talking to the owner at the residence where the dog resided, the dog came up behind the deputy and bit him twice on the left leg. Kuhn said the injuries were minor, but the deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The owner of the animal was issued citations for having an unlicensed dog, and a dangerous dog. Kuhn said the deputy would return to work shortly.
