After serving the Ingham Township Fire Department for 35 years, Fire Chief Tim Whipple has passed away.
Whipple passed Saturday while camping with his family and friends from an apparent heart attack.
He was 55-years-old.
Whipple held many different positions within the department before spending the past nine years as Fire Chief.
Other roles Whipple served include past President of the Ingham County Fire Chiefs Association, Coordinator of the Ingham County Hazardous Materials Team, and Vice President of the Ingham County Mutual Aid Box Alarm Division 3103.
Funeral arrangements are currently being arranged at this time.
