Friday marks the fourth anniversary of the death of Ingham County Sheriff's Deputy Grant Whitaker.

And this morning the Ingham County Sheriff's Office honored Whitaker with a moment of silence on the radios. They started with an End of Watch call followed by the silence, and ended with saying rest in peace.

You can hear the call by playing the video attached to this story.

Deputy Whitaker was killed after crashing his patrol car into a tree while chasing a fleeing suspect on Dexter Trail near Stockbridge on Dec. 7, 2014.

Whitaker worked for the Ingham County Sheriff's Office for one and a half years and previously worked for the Stockbridge Police Department.

He was 25-years-old.

The man Deputy Whitaker was chasing was arrested, convicted, and sentenced to 20 to 45 years in prison in connection with the crash.
