It's Crime Victims Rights Week. On Tuesday, the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office introduced a new tool aimed at curbing hate crime.

"Hate Crime Help" is a website that offers resources to victims of racial, sexual, and other prejudice based crimes.

Prosecutor Carol Siemon says the site will help victims before the court system can. "We also have seen such a rise in hate crimes, biases, incidents across the nation and locally. So we really have a big need right now to make sure that we address the needs of the victims right away. We can't wait until prosecution has begun, we need to have resources for police right away."

The hate crime help website currently offers resources on a national level. Siemon says the county is now working on adding local resources to the site.
