Ingham County Jail inmates get their GED

The Ingham County Jail is doing more than just housing inmates.

Wednesday the sheriff's office hosted a GED graduation ceremony for eight inmates. They worked to get their GED through the Lansing School District while they were incarcerated.

Deputy School superintendent Mark Coscarella says earning their GED helps inmates get ready for life on the outside.

This was the Ingaham County Jails first GED graduation ceremony.
