MASON, Mich. — Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter (ICACS) is moving to its new facilities. The construction of the new facilities has completed, and operations are moving the animal shelter services on June 2-4th. The shelter will have limited services to the public during these moving dates.
Adoption services and dog license purchases will not be available to the public at the shelter on June 3rd and 4th, a Monday and Tuesday. Licenses may be purchased at the Ingham County Courthouse in Mason or the Veterans Memorial Courthouse in Lansing, along with participating veterinary clinics There will be select cats off-site at the PETCO in Frandor and the Pet Supplies Plus on Grand River.
Animal Control complaint response will be limited to emergencies only during this time period as the officers transition their gear the new facility. Officers will remain on standby to take in stray animals unable to be held by the public. The officers will also be available be available to assist pet owners looking for their lost pets.
Full Shelter services will resume on June 5th at 10:30am at the new facilities located at 600 Buhl St in Mason. The new shelter can be accessed of Buhl road, past 55th District Court and the Drain Commissioner office. The new shelter was made possible by the 2016 millage, and was built to be a full service animal welfare center.
Please join us for the Grand Opening ceremony on June 14th at 2pm. Immediately following the Grand Opening ceremony, the annual summer Adopt-A-Fest will begin with discounted adoptions at the shelter all day and night straight through until 6pm on Saturday, June 15th.
