LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) -- The Ingham County Animal Shelter has set up shop at Potter Park in Lansing for its annual Adopt-a-fest.
It's a 30-hour marathon designed to find forever homes for as many dogs and cats as possible.
The animals are set up in the "Tiger den pavilion" outside the zoo.
Volunteers are having a bake sale to help reduce adoption costs.
Shelter staff tell us it's not just the warm weather that has them waiting until June to hold the event.
Right now the cost to adopt a dog is $30, and cats are $10. All the animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered.
You will have to fill out an application, go through an interview, and provide proof of landlord permission if you're a renter.
The event ends at 6 p.m. Saturday.
