INGHAM COUNTY, Mich. — You may not recognize the Ingham County Sheriff's officers the next time you see them...
That's because they will be wearing new uniforms.
The uniformed staff will be transitioning from the traditional brown uniform to a black and gray uniform.
They say that the new uniform is lighter and more functional, as well as cheaper than the traditional Class A uniform.
You may still see officers wearing the brown uniform at events and services.
The department told News 10 that with many scheduled retirements happening in the next several years that now was a good time to make the change and be fiscally responsible.
