INGHAM CO., Mich. — Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter (ICACS) is moving to new facilities.

The new facilities will be located at 600 Buhl St in Mason.

The new shelter was made possible by the 2016 millage, and was built to be a full service animal welfare center.

ICACS will be in the process of moving its animals and facilities from June 2 thru 4.

The current location will have limited services to the public during these moving dates.

Adoption services and dog license purchases will not be available to the public at the shelter on June 3 and 4, a Monday and Tuesday.

Licenses may be purchased at the Ingham County Courthouse in Mason or the Veterans Memorial Courthouse in Lansing, along with participating veterinary clinics.

During this time period, animal control complaint response will be limited to emergencies as officers transition their gear to the new facility.

Officers, however, will remain on standby to take in stray animals unable to be held by the public.

The officers will also be available to assist pet owners looking for their lost pets.

There will be select cats for adoption off-site at the PETCO in Frandor and the Pet Supplies Plus on Grand River.

Full shelter services will resume on June 5 at 10:30am at the new facilities.

The new shelter can be accessed off of Buhl road, past the Fifty-fifth District Court and the Drain Commissioner's office.
