LANSING, Mich. — After refusing calls to resign, a Michigan lawmaker accused of seeking bribes in exchange for votes, could be removed from office.

A petition to recall Republican State Rep. Larry Inman has been sent to Michigan's Board of State Canvassers.

Inman was indicted by a grand jury in May on charges alleging extortion, bribery, and lying to the FBI.

If the language is approved by the board, petitioners would have 60 days to collect about 12,000 signatures.
