I-69 'buckles' for second time in same location, extreme heat to blame

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WSYM) - MDOT crews were called to I-69 in Eaton County for a second time this weekend after extreme heat caused the roadway to buckle.

The northbound lanes of I-69 near Cochran Road closed down around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Eaton County Sheriff deputies were on scene taking reports of damaged vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

Southbound lanes of I-69 in the same location were closed down Saturday night for over an hour while crews made repairs to road buckling.

Vehicles were damaged, however, nobody was hurt.
