Interstate-496 is back open after a serious accident shut it down around 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Police say a driver was going too fast while merging onto westbound I-496 from northbound U.S. 127.
The man went across the median and flipped over into an oncoming car.
He had minor injuries but the man he hit is in critical condition.
Two other cars were involved, but nobody in them was injured.
