BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Prosecutors in Calhoun County have dismissed charges of human trafficking against two Lansing men.

The charges were dropped during preliminary examinations for Alexander Murray and Kevin Nemeth.

Both men were arrested in Battle Creek back in January. They were each were charged charged with transporting women for prostitution, accepting earnings from prostitution and human trafficking, involving two Lansing women.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert said one of the women changed her testimony from earlier statements on Friday and said the allegations were not true. A judge dismissed the charges as the second woman did not appear for the hearing.

Murray is still facing charges of kidnapping in Arizona. Battle Creek police said he will be transported there to face those charges.
