A Howell man lost his part of his leg yesterday in a boating accident on Gun lake in Barry County.
Authorities say the 20 year-old jumped off the boat while it was making a turn.
The back end of the boat came on top of him, and the propeller hit his leg.
Two doctors who happened to be on the lake applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
Authorities say that move most likely saved his life.
