In Michigan, 16-percent of teens have seriously considered suicide. One in 11 students attempt it at least once. Suicide is a topic that's not always discussed but needs to be on a regular basis both at home and school.

There is a tip line "ok2say" that allows students, staff and parents in Michigan to report possible crime in schools confidentially. Officials said this tip line has also been used to avert suicide attempts.
