A legal expert tells FOX 47's Marcus Dash that a guilty plea could throw a wrench in the case for MSU, USA Gymnastics, and Twistars.
Legal expert Karen Truszkowski says, if Nassar admits to criminal liability it is going to be very hard for MSU to say they were medically necessary procedures.
However, she says it wont be such a slam dunk case, MSU, USA Gymnastics, and Twistars can prove even if he was doing something wrong, that doesn't necessarily make the people he was working for liable.
She says that since Nassar has already defaulted and has no money left, the financial burden in the civil suit will fall on MSU, USA Gymnastics, and Twistars.
Truszkowski expects the institutions and the plaintiffs involved to come to a resolution during the extended mediation they have been given.
