EAST LANSING, Mich. — Calling all horse-shoers! The 50th annual Horse-Shoers Clinic and Contest is happening this weekend at the MSU Livestock Pavilion.

Farriers are competing against each other to see who can make the best horseshoes.

The competition draws people from all over the U.S. and Canada.

Organizers say these competitors are not amateurs.

"Every one of these fellas and gals shoe horses for a living, make a career out of it. so they use competing as a way of increasing their skills, increasing their knowledge," said Jennifer Horn, president of Michigan Horse Shoers Association.

The competition continues on Saturday morning at the MSU Pavilion and is free for spectators.
