LANSING, Mich. — HopCat East Lansing will open its doors on Monday, Aug. 19, following exciting renovations to improve the guest experience from start to finish. The restaurant and beer bar at 300 Grove St. will celebrate its reopening along with its 6th Anniversary the following Saturday, Aug. 24, with a party featuring some of our all-time favorite craft beers.

“At the heart of the renovations, we’re aiming to elevate the dining experience,” said Chris Funaro, HopCat East Lansing’s Area Director. “Guests will notice the changes from the moment they walk in the door and throughout their visit at HopCat, from the dining and bar area, to a new state-of-the-art kitchen, to a new draft system for the best possible beer.”

Visitors will enter a remodeled space that offers several new seating options, and a reimagined Mezzanine space will provide an ideal venue for semi-private events. Additional TVs and upgraded audio will improve the game-day experience for Spartan sports fans.

HopCat’s behind-the-scenes kitchen upgrades will allow guests to enjoy an all-new brunch menu, available until 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, along with a flavorful lineup of brunch-ready cocktails. The new choices include our Salted Caramel Chicken & Waffles, Egg In the Hole, Mediterranean Breakfast Wrap and Light Side of the Sun brunch salad.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 26, HopCat also is rolling out its new menu of “9 Under $9” lunch specials, a selection of new and updated quick-service items created for guests with places to be and budgets to watch, available 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday thru Friday. These include the California Club Sandwich, Pork Tostadas and the all-new Dbl Smash Burger.

At our Anniversary party the following Saturday, Aug. 24, we’ll be celebrating six great years in East Lansing, plus the start of another academic year for the MSU community, by tapping some big beers that we’ve been hanging onto for a special occasion — including Founders’ Kentucky and Canadian Breakfast Stouts (2017) and New Holland Brewing Co.’s Dragon’s Milk Reserve: Triple Mash. Doors for the party will open at 11 a.m. for great beer and great food.
