Home invader found while woman showered

A man fled a local apartment complex, after being discovered lurking in a bedroom while a woman was showering.

The incident happened Wednesday night at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the apartments in the 2700 block of Hannah Boulevard.

In a written statement to the media, Meridian Township Police say that the suspect is believed to have entered the apartment after one of the residents returned to her apartment alone. Police believe he entered the apartment through an unlocked door. Police say the man locked the door to the apartment and went into the woman's bedroom while she was in the shower. A roommate returned to the apartment and the suspect fled.

"Police believe the suspect intended to harm the resident, as he did not take any property from the apartment," states the release.

The man was seen loitering in the area of building 1300 prior to the incident.

Meridian Police seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect. He is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, 5'10", medium build, brown hair and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with a green emblem on the front.
