Home heavily damaged by fire, couple escapes unharmed

JACKSON, Mich. (WSYM) - Multiple fire departments were called to the scene of a house fire in Jackson Sunday afternoon.

Crews responded to the 1800 block of Francis Street around Noon.

The homeowner tells FOX 47 News he and his wife were home at the time of the fire. They were able to escape unharmed.

The homeowner had lived in the house for over 20 years.

Fire crews were working to save portions of the home, however, it is likely a total loss.

The homeowner also ran his business from the home.

Blackman Leoni Township, Jackson, Spring Arbor Fire, and Summit Township fire departments responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire is still be determined.
