Holt Public Schools is looking into changing it's policies after many unpaid school lunch balances.

The school planned on implementing a new policy today that would give kids with unpaid lunch debt, cheese sandwiches, milk, and salad bar options.

The Superintendent David Hornak says it is a balancing act of making sure all kids get lunch, to making sure nobody feels lunch shamed, all while still keeping the budget in tact.

Holt Public Schools says it will continue to monitor and research ways to fix the unpaid lunch balances, while continuing to give students a typical lunch.
