HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale Police are investigating why a man lunged a knife at an officer on Friday.
It happened on August 16 at 6:05 a.m. near the Hillsdale City Hall.
The Chief of Police, Scott A. Hephner, says that Jay Carroll, a 64-year-old white male approached the officer who was in a patrol vehicle and thrust a knife at him through a partially open window.
The officer was able to avoid getting cut and was able to get Carroll away from the car and then detain him.
Carroll was taken into custody for assault with intent to murder a police officer.
