Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton wants to hold a primary debate in Flint against Senator Bernie Sanders.
A spokesperson for her campaign believes a debate in the city would put a spotlight on the struggles of the people.
With the Iowa caucuses beginning on Monday, the two campaigns are currently focused on the Hawkeye state.
Both Democratic and Republican primaries will have debates in Iowa this week.
