Eastbound I-94 in Jackson County has reopened after a deadly accident early Wednesday.
The Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety says a passenger car was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided head-on with a semi, just west of Sargent Road shortly before 4 a.m.
The female driver and male passenger in the car died at the scene. Police say both were residents of Jackson County, but aren't releasing names at this time until their families have been notified. The truck driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
