High School cross county runners collapse from heat exhaustion

JACKSON, Mich. (WSYM) - As many as ten High School cross country runners are recovering after they collapsed due to heat exhaustion at a meet in Jackson Saturday.

About 60 teams from across the state were at Ella Sharp Park for the Jackson Invitational.

The runners were treated at Henry Ford Allegiance Health Hospital.

Organizers ended up cancelling five remaining races.
