LANSING, Mich. — Douglas Hill waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Friday, Sept. 20. Once the preliminary hearing is waived the case proceeds to a trial.

Douglas Hill is charged with murdering Danielle Steiner and her son Aubrey Hall in June of 2018.

According to court records, this is Hill's fourth felony firearm charge.

The remains of the 34-year-old mom and her five-year-old son were found July 1, 2019 at Hill's home on Loa Street in Lansing, next door to her last known address.

They had been missing for more than a year when their remains were found.

Court documents show when police spoke to Hill in the Monroe County Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges, he confessed to Steiner, his then-girlfriend, and Hall.

Police believe Hill killed them in June 2018.

Hill is in custody without the option of bond.
