SHIAWASSEE CO., Mich. — A 14-year-old girl is killed in an accident early Sunday morning in Shaftsburg, Shiawassee County. Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office says that Hannah Hidalgo of Haslett was struck while walking across Lansing Road near the intersection of Shaftsburg Road at about 3: 30 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies say alcohol is believed to be a factor. FOX 47 is checking to clarify the statement. The press release does not have information on the status of the driver. They say the incident remains under investigation.
The Sheriff's office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Perry Police, and the L.S.W. Fire Department.
