Researchers are calling their work the first nationally representative study on ER visits for gun injuries among children in the united states. The team analyzed estimates on emergency department visits from a national database.
The overall average age was fifteen. Almost half of the gun injuries were from assaults, nearly 40% were unintentional and 2% were suicides.
