The Delta Township fire department wants your family to be warned if there is a fire in your home. Wednesday they are canvassing the area, going door to door, to schedule free smoke alarm inspection and installation. The alarms will be installed on Saturday, October 7.
Neighborhoods are being selected due to home age and known smoke alarm problems, according to the fire department.
They have partnered with the Red Cross as part of their Home Fire Campaign by not only installing smoke alarms, but also educating families on home fire safety.
The following streets are involved in the canvas: Guenther, Stoll, Weston, Pickton, London, Norwick, Meaford, Canton, Chesley, Old Erin, Tindalaya, Gull, Oakcrest, Harvest, Michelle, Marys, Meadowview, Iris, Theo, Richard, Julian, Winifred, Harriet, Ivan, Hoover, Steifel, Maycroft, Bretton, Robins, Elizabeth, Addison, Arden, Rockdale, Bollman, Boxwood, Holiday, Elmwood, River Ridge, Birchwood, Greenbriar, River, Wayland, Grand Woods, Clearview, and Edmund.
