Group turns petition in to get mandatory sick days on November ballot

LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - A group trying to make paid sick days mandatory turned in more than 380,000 petition signatures Tuesday.

The proposal will go on the November ballot if the state decides enough of those signatures are valid.

Businesses with at least 10 workers would have to give them a minimum of 72 paid sick hours per year. Smaller companies would have to give 40 hours.

We'll let you know when the Board of Canvassers makes its decision.
