The annual 2nd Amendment Rally held at the State Capitol Wednesday was about more than just protecting existing gun rights.
The group Michigan Open Carry is lobbying in favor of a bill that would punish local governments for passing gun restrictions that are tougher than state law. It's already illegal to do so.
House bill 4795 would allow elected officials to be fined up to $5,000 if they knowingly passed tougher laws.
