Most dental care procedures are not covered by Medicare, and many seniors want to change that.

On Tuesday, a group called The Bucket Brigade delivered 1,500 toothbrushes to Sen. Debbie Stabenow's office in East Lansing, urging her to improve access to dental care for seniors. The group says paying out of pocket for a trip to the dentist is not affordable for most seniors.

"I'm 77 and I don't go to the dentist because of how much it costs. Go to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned and it's a hundred and some dollars. I'm a privileged person but I don't have that kind of money," said Penny Gardner, of The Bucket Brigade, who has a Ph.D.

The group isn't sure what Stabenow will do with all those toothbrushes, but they're confident she'll get their message.
