WILLIAMSTON, Mich. — A groundbreaking ceremony is being held on Wednesday, July 24 to celebrate the upcoming installation of a new playground in Williamston.

The ceremony will be held at Volunteers Community Park, 101 School Street at 10 a.m.

The $70,000 project includes four elements: a play structure, four swings, a Ten Spin, and a Tri Totter.

The equipment, designed for ages 2 through 12, offers a wide variety of play and movement experiences-to swing, bounce, slide, climb, jump and spin.

The project was funding by private donations, grants, and fundraising events, according to a press release.

Volunteers will start installing the playground on Thursday, July 25.

The playground is set to be fully installed by Saturday, July 27.
