The judges of the 30th Judicial Circuit have selected former state senator and Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer to fill the vacancy of the office of the Ingham County Prosecutor, effective July 2, 2016.
The vote by the judges was unanimous in their selection of Whitmer, saying "Gretchen Whitmer will restore public confidence and integrity to the office. She is a trusted former elected official in Ingham County with a background in public service and has strong ties to the community."
