The members of the Grand River Environmental Action Team (G.R.E.A.T.) have a canoe/kayak trip on the Grand River scheduled for Sunday, October 7. The trip begins at 12:00 noon at the Tompkins Rd DNR Boat Launch and take-out is at the Onondagas’s Baldwin Park on S. Onondaga Rd. Put-in and Take-out Map. For the shuttle to place your vehicle at the take-out, arrive at put-in between 11:15 AM and 11:30AM. This will be a 3-3.5 hour event: remember to dress for the weather and to bring a change of clothing in a waterproof bag.

All of this paddle is through a mostly natural area with no homes and other buildings, this route winds its way through mature forest with no cross roads. The put-in and take-out facilities are very good including bathrooms.

Click on the CALENDAR button on GREAT’s website for trip attributes, maps, and put-in and take-out sites. Trips cancelled due to problems with weather or water levels will be scheduled for the following Sunday.
