Grand Rapids police have released transcripts of two 911 calls made the day the bodies of two women were found inside a house last year.
The first call was made at 10:29 a.m. on March 13, according to transcripts obtained by FOX 17 through a Freedom of Information Act request.
The caller tells the dispatcher someone is trying to kill her at 553 Sheldon Ave., where the victims' bodies were found that afternoon.
“Can you just hurry up, please, I’m gonna die,” the transcript says. “… he’s trying to kill me. He already killed my (unintelligible). Can you hurry up, please?”
Before the transcript ends, the caller identifies herself as Keyona, which is the first name of one of the victims, 25-year-old Keyona Griffin. Keyona was told a call was centered and police were being sent her way, according to transcripts.
A call from a man who identified himself to dispatchers as the brother of one of the victims was placed at 1 p.m., according to transcripts from Grand Rapids police. The man told dispatchers there was blood everywhere inside the house and his sister wasn’t moving.
Shortly after, police arrived and found Griffin and 47-year-old Charlette Baber-Bey’s bodies.
Since the homicides, investigators have been searching for 45-year-old Derrell Brown as a person of interest in the case.
Police said Brown lived at the home with the victims and was dating Baber-Bey. The search for Brown is still going and has gone nationwide.
