A deer broke through a window at a Grand Rapids elementary school Thursday.

It happened at Ken-O-Sha Park Elementary School at about 8 a.m., according to John Helmholdt, a spokesperson at Grand Rapids Public Schools.

He said the school is one of a few with a motion-activated door.

Authorities worked to open other doors and allow the deer to find its way out of the building.

The deer was inside the building for roughly 20 minutes, Helmholdt said. No damages were reported.

GRPS posted a photo of the buck inside the building to their Facebook page today with a caption reading, "When running of the bucks goes wrong!"
