When the owner of Frosty Boy found out her business was deemed non-essential by Governor Whitmer's stay-at-home order, she knew there was something she had to do.

Instead of throwing out the unused ice cream pints, Alyssa Naumann said she wanted to donate them to the nurses and doctors at Spectrum Health working on the front line.

On Friday, Naumann made the donation to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.

“I don’t like to see ice cream go to waste. I think that’s really sad," Naumann said. "So if I can’t give it to our wonderful customers than I might as well give it to the people I think are the most deserving right now, and that is the people in the health care industry, she said.

"Anything I can do to help brighten their day because they’re putting their lives on the line for us right now.”

A total of 145 pints of ice cream was donated including flavors like vanilla, chocolate, twist, lemon, and vegan ice cream.

Naumann says this is not the last of her donations, there is still more ice cream to donate.
