Davenport University is offering free tax help to people in West Michigan.

IRS-certified volunteers will be available at multiple locations to help people claim their tax refunds. The program is available for individuals with an income of $27,000 or less and $57,000 for families.

The university says millions in tax refunds and credits go unclaimed by the people who need them most, and this program is hoping to change that.

Free help filing taxes by the April 15 deadline is being offered at the following locations:

  • Aquinas College
  • Davenport Holland Campus
  • Davenport University W.A. Lettinga Campus
  • Delton District Library
  • Hastings Public Library
  • Kent County Community Action
  • Northview Senior Center
  • Putnam District Library
  • St. Alphonsus Parish
  • The Source
  • Wyoming Public Library

Appointments are recommended but walk-ins are allowed at some sites. People who opt for that will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis once all appointments are completed.

Information on scheduling an appointment can be found on Davenport’s website.
