Students at Cornerstone University will return to classes in Fall 2020, with an option to experience remote learning synchronized with live classroom learning, Cornerstone President Dr. Joe Stowell announced Thursday.

“Given that they are the life of our university, we cannot wait to have (students) back on campus!” Stowell said in a release.

Adaptability appears to be a theme in Cornerstone’s plans going forward, using what the school called “agile teaching,” where faculty provides “multiple modes of engagement” and a style of teaching that allows for quick changes when necessary.

Face-to-face learning will resume in the fall, with social distancing, plus students will have the option to have remote learning that is in tandem with in person classes.

Courses will be structured to allow for a quick transition to online learning if it’s necessary.

“If the state of Michigan or our community dictate suspension of onground operations, we will be prepared for seamless transitions of part or all of our academics,” Stowell said.
