At least one Police Chief in Michigan won't be helping the federal government track down illegal immigrants.

Grand Rapids Chief David Rahinsky spoke at the Hispanic Center of West Michigan Monday night. He told the crowd his department is "not concerned with your immigration status." He says he doesn't want the community to be afraid to call police because they're worried about being deported.

Michigan Senator Gary Peters thinks President Trump needs to focus his deportation efforts elsewhere. "We have limited resources to deal with this issue. We should focus on those individuals who are a threat to us or have demonstrated criminal activity. That's where the focus needs to be."
