LANSING, Mich. — Monday morning marked the grand opening of the new Care Free Medical facility.

Care Free Medical offers medical, dental, optometry, and behavioral health services to those who are uninsured or underinsured in the community.

The new facility will combine all of the services Care Free Medical has to offer into one building, which will make it easier to give care for the 14 thousand office visits per year.

Previously, there was a separate building for dental services while medical, optometry and behavioral health were offered in one building.

The new building is triple the size of the original facility with 21 medical examination rooms, 7 rooms in the dental clinic, and 5 rooms in the optometry clinic.

The dental clinic and optometry clinic will share a floor in the new facility, but those rooms will be under construction until June or July.

Although patients can expect the same care as the old facility, Care Free Medical is trying to expand on its services.

CEO of Care Free Medical Farhan Bhatti said, "We've got a pharmacy that we've recruited. We're also trying to put physical therapy in this building, a counseling service, a psychologist in this building, so we really want to be that hub for people to receive all of the services that they need."

The new location is at 1100 W. Saginaw Street in Lansing.
