DETROIT, Mich. — Fancy new cars weren't the only big focus at the North American International Auto Show. Governor Gretchen Whitmer was at the Cobo Center in Detroit Tuesday.
Governor Whitmer spoke about all the new technologies that are being featured.
She says that often times when we think of all these innovations, our minds automatically go to autonomous vehicles.
But the Governor says our focus should really be on how it affects where we live.
"But what we really should be talking about is how this technology and innovation that is happening right now can impact and improve the quality of life for people" said Gov. Whitmer.
Governor Whitmer also announcing Tuesday funding for a final round of projects under the $8 million Michigan Mobility Challenge.
That challenge addresses where there are gaps for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities to get around across the state.
