The Michigan National Guard is ending it's emergency relief efforts in Flint.
On Friday, Governor Rick Snyder thanked the 400 guard troops who have been helping hand out water and faucet filters since January. Their effort will come to an end next Thursday.
The Governor went to a water distribution site and presented the guardsmen with a Service Award. He said, "This represents the best of Michigan when you look at our citizen soldiers. They deploy around the work for our national security, but they're also here to help us in our own back yard."
The water and filter distribution will continue without the guard. Civilians are being hired to take over the job.
