LANSING, Mich. — Governor Gretchen Whitmer talked Wednesday night about vaping.
On Wednesday, President Trump announced a plan to ban all flavored e-cigarettes.
The governor said taking the ban national is exactly what needs to happen.
"That's the most important powerful step that we can take to keep our kids safe, so I think that so long as the White House is pursuing that, that is a sweeping protection for kids and consumers and protecting our health," Gov. Whitmer said.
The FDA is now developing guidelines to remove thousands of flavors used in e-cigarettes.
We can expect to see those guidelines in the coming weeks, followed by a 30-day compliance period for retailers.
