LANSING, Mich. — The governor is creating a new task force focused on "women in sports."
Gov. Whitmer's office said it's the first of its kind for state government.
The task force is expected to bring together local and national leaders to promote sports opportunities for Michigan girls and women.
Task force members include University of Michigan Softball Coach Carol Hutchins, Western Michigan Athletic Director Kathy Beauregard and Grand Valley Athletic Director Keri Becker.
