LANSING, Mich. — Lansing Ignite FC has announced today the addition of goalkeeper Kyle Ihn ahead of the 2019 USL League One campaign, pending league and federation approval.

The 6-foot-2 netminder spent the 2018 USL Championship season with Reno 1868 FC. Before turning pro, Ihn played collegiately at Wisconsin-Green Bay and suited up for the Kokomo Mantis and Des Moines Menace in USL League Two competition.

“Kyle has all of the key qualities we are looking for in a goalkeeper,” Lansing Head Coach Nate Miller said. “He plays with excellent poise, is a fantastic shot-stopper and has very good feet and tactical understanding. He leads the team by beginning attacks from the back.”

Ihn becomes the first goalkeeper named to Miller’s side for the 2019 season and is the seventh player overall to be announced ahead of the inaugural USL League One regular season, joining Xavier Gomez, Rafa Mentzingen, Christian Silva, Kyle Carr, Nathan Lewis and Steeve Saint-Duc.

“It’s an honor to represent Lansing Ignite FC this season, and I can’t wait to get started,” Ihn said. “I’ve seen the support the team has received on social media and look forward to suiting up for the Lansing community in 2019.”

Players are set to report to Lansing for training in February 2019. LIFC will travel to Virginia to play the Richmond Kickers for the team’s first match of the season on March 30, while Ignite FC will host its home opener against the Kickers at 7 p.m. ET on April 13 (BUY TICKETS [lansingignite.com]).
