LANSING, Mich. — One of the most beloved vehicles in the Lansing area is finally back on the streets.
The replica "Ghostbusters" car died on the highway almost a month ago while on its way back from the Mint Festival in St. Johns.
The 1984 Cadillac hearse turned "Etco-1" is owned by local bus driver Aaron Aikman.
He said fixing the car involved several alterations, but that it's worth it.
"The smiles it brings out to everybody, especially the kids you know. We're going to be doing a trunk or treat up at Olympic Broil on Oct. 22 so we're looking forward to that. The kids just go hog-wild when they see the Ghostbusters, they see the car," Aikman said.
Aikman bought the hearse in 2013 for $1,400. He spent about $3,000 transforming it into a replica of the iconic Ghostbuters car.
The car isn't the only replica Aikman has created though. He also has a Mystery Machine from the Scooby-Doo series as well as a few other famous cars from TV shows.
